Jungle Run IX:
Wild Wheels & a Sunset Soiree

Join the Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo from 8 am – 7pm on July 13, 2024, for an exhilarating day of automotive excitement at the Jungle Run IX: Wild Wheels and a Sunset Soiree on the West Green of the picturesque Lee Richardson Zoo. All makes, and models are welcome to participate in the auto show. The Zoo will open at 8 am for pedestrians and drive-through traffic, with no early admittance. Vehicle registration begins at 8 am at the gazebo on the West Green. Voting for the awards will commence at 11 am, followed by an awards presentation at 2 pm. The Sunset Soiree kicks off at 12 pm noon with games, a silent auction and the Safari Suds Oasis!
For just $25 through 5 pm on July 12 (or $30 on the day of the show), you can pre-register your vehicle and secure your spot. The first 100 entries will receive exclusive dash plaques and goodie bags. Free prize drawings and giveaways will be held throughout the day.
Get ready for a thrilling showdown of participant-judged awards, including the best car, best truck, best motorcycle, best off-road vehicle, best unrestored vehicle, and the highly coveted best-in-show award. We proudly announce the sponsorships of the "Monster Muscle" category by Monster Energy, the "Classic" vehicle category by Coca-Cola, the Little Cub Kruiser category by KGBL 100.9 the Bull and the best Lowrider category by 102.9 La Raza. The Little Cub Kruiser category encourages our youngest car enthusiasts to take part. All children's vehicles are welcome (hot wheels, push cars, pedal cars, and more) as long as they can sit in the vehicle. Registration for this category is just $10. The child must be accompanied by an adult registering a separate vehicle in one of the other categories. All Little Cub Kruiser entries will receive a special prize. Spectators will have the power to choose the People's Choice award, while our esteemed Zoo staff will decide the King of the Jungle award.

Don’t miss the truly immersive and engaging experiences that will make this year's Jungle Run a memorable event for everyone wanting an exciting day at the zoo with family and friends. Just a spectator? No problem! Brace yourself for great music, mouthwatering offerings from Los Charros Birria, Gary's Backyard Smokehouse & BBQ, and tasty concession snacks at the Wild Dog Stop. But wait, there's more! We've extended our hours to bring you the Sunset Soiree! The Safari Suds Oasis, our vibrant beer garden, will open at 12 pm noon on the north end of the west green. Guests 21 and over with a valid ID may purchase and enjoy a variety of cold adult beverages. Dive into the excitement as you browse and bid on unique items in the silent auction or sign your team up for the cornhole tournament. Tournament is double elimination. $20 per person/$40 per team. Registrations are non-refundable. The first-place team will receive a 75% payout of the total cornhole registration collected. Bags fly at 1:30 pm on the west green of Lee Richardson Zoo. Preregister online or the day of. Check in and registration are located at the gazebo on the west green. Online registration ends at 5 pm July 12, 2024. All are welcome to attend.
