Established in 1975, Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization, which stands as the fundraising branch for the zoo. The organization is comprised of both employees and volunteers who are dedicated to improving the zoo. Friends operates the Safari Shoppe gift shop, located inside the main zoo entrance. All proceeds from the gift shop sales, special events, donations and other programs are used for zoo improvements. Our board of directors are elected members charged with determining the policies that direct Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo affairs.
